Promoting and protecting the natural environment of the Upper Rideau
Our lake association
The Upper Rideau Lake Association (URLA) is a non-profit volunteer organization of seasonal and permanent residents, holiday lake users, and residents of the village of Westport, Ontario interested in promoting and protecting the natural environment of the Upper Rideau. The Association a strong voice to its members in regional bodies governing the lake and participates with other lake associations in projects and alliances.

Upper Rideau Lake is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Rideau Canal. It is the highest level in a 198 km waterway system running from Kingston to Ottawa Canada.
We serve about 400 waterfront properties and the village of Westport. We are administered by a volunteer board of directors elected by the membership at large at our annual general meeting in early July each year.
