It is that time of the year once again! URLA is pleased to announce the opening of our annual shoreline restoration program, in which members can purchase seedlings and potted plants recommended by the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority (RVCA). Thanks to everyone who participated last year when URLA members planted approximately 2,000 trees and shrubs. Natural lake shorelines are important to trap runoff and act as a buffer to absorb contaminants, keep lakes clean and reduce algae.
Members can now order trees and shrubs via the URLA online storefront at https://upper-rideau-lakes-association.square.site.
The deadline for orders is December 15, 2022. As with the previous year, orders will be available for pickup in early May 2023.
The cost for URLA Members for bare root seedlings ranges from $2.50 to $3.75 for a bundle of ten and from $10.50 to $17.50 for one or two-gallon potted trees and shrubs.
