The Upper Rideau Lake Association is seeking a dedicated volunteer to serve as Secretary for our Board of Directors. In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing meeting agendas, scheduling board meetings and the AGM, taking meeting minutes, and maintaining our online records management system.
You’ll also play a key role in leading strategic planning and supporting the President in Board operations.
The commitment is about 5-10 hours per month, with approximately four Board meetings annually and the AGM in July. Attendance at these meetings is recommended.
URLA is a non-profit volunteer organization of seasonal and permanent residents, lake users, and Westport villagers dedicated to protecting the Upper Rideau Lake's natural environment.
We give our members a strong voice in regional lake governance and collaborate with other lake associations on projects and alliances.
Summary of Key Duties - Secretary, Upper Rideau Lake Association
• Act as clerk of the Upper Rideau Lake board of directors.
• Attend and record minutes of the board of directors' meetings. Meetings are typically held in April, May, June, September, and October and are a combination of in-person and virtual.
• Attend the Annual URLA General Meeting (AGM) in July, take minutes, record motions, etc.
• Assist with AGM planning and organization
• Preparation of the URLA board meeting agendas• Maintain various URLA documents and records, check URLA secretary email account regularly and assist with other duties as a member of the URLA board..
